In Spring of 2024 the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), in partnership with the North Kingstown Recreation Department, will be hosting the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to offer the industry-leading Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) certification program.
The CPSI certification program provides the most comprehensive and up-to-date training on playground safety issues including hazard identification, equipment specifications, surfacing requirements, and risk management methods.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Review and study Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) materials;
Attend two days of in-person instruction; and
Take the CPSI certification exam (if desired).
Course participants will learn how to:
Identify hazards on public playgrounds and playground equipment;
Rank hazards according to injury potential; and
Apply that knowledge and establish a playground safety program.
